Veritas Massage Studio is celebrating its expansion and 10 years in business with an open house as part of the August Downtown Art Walk on August 7.
The expansion doubles the studio’s square footage, and includes a second treatment room as well as another space for doing additional infrared therapies and movement work. The addition of a second treatment room has allowed Veritas to expand its hours of operation, and will allow Vertias’ owner, Traci Soriano, to bring on another therapist in the fall.
Soriano started the business as a sole proprietor and has grown the business over the years to include three additional massage therapists: Khya Rice, Markaya Henderson and Carmen Winquist.
“I started this business in 2005 as a leap of faith that it would be successful,” Soriano said. “Downtown businesses seemed to be somewhat of a revolving door, but today I am excited to be a part of a downtown revitalization that combines mixed-use construction, a community presence in food and art, and the continued development of the waterfront.”
Featured artists for the evening of the Art Walk are painter Caren Kongshaug and healing gemstone artist Tracy Ling. The Veritas therapists will also be offering free five-minute massage and infrared treatments, and a raffle for a 60-minute massage gift certificate.
