A new Bellingham cafe, Makeworth Market, opens this month and will serve as a home for a number of talented local businesses. Among them is Gathered Confections, already a beloved stop at the Saturday Farmers Market for their craft cakes and pastries utilizing organic and locally-sourced ingredients, floral and herbal accents, and handcrafted garnishes.

Gathered Confections has been sweetening up the Bellingham dessert scene since opening in 2016. Gathered started as the passion project of classically trained pastry chef and owner, Sarah Woods, who uses her love of edible flowers and local and organic sourcing to craft memorable desserts and pastries.

After years of patiently waiting, customers will now be able to purchase treats from Gathered Confections any day of the week! Coming this May, customers will be able to find Gathered Confections cakes, pastries and desserts inside Makeworth Market, opening at 1201 N. State Street. In addition to the sweets, Makeworth will feature craft coffee, beer, and a curated selection of retail offerings.

“I couldn’t be more excited about embarking on this new partnership. As soon as I saw the vision of Makeworth, I knew that it was the right home for Gathered,” stated Woods, owner and baker. Gathered will be introducing new menu items exclusively to Makeworth in addition to many of the favorites her loyal customers already love, so be sure to stop by and check it out!
