Do you worry every time you hear about another computer security break in? Cyber-crime is rightly terrifying, but it is not as dangerous as you may think. This series of talks will leave you with an understanding of what the threats are, how they may affect you, and reasonable measures for protecting yourself. Session One: What is biting us? What is cyber crime, how does it happen, and what are its consequences. Session Two: What is the industry doing about it? Anti-virus software, firewalls, and other safety measures provided by the manufacturers and vendors. What are they good for and how do they work? Session Three: Making it work for you. How do you work on your computer and conduct your affairs to minimize your vulnerability to cyber-crime? How can you make cyber safety a reasonable part of your daily routine?
